In 2001, Diana Copisarow OBE, a volunteer for the Witness Service at the Old Bailey, supported an unrepresented woman through a divorce hearing from her barrister husband at the Royal Courts. 18 years later, and the Personal Support Unit are still helping those most in need access Justice. In 2017/18, our dedicated volunteers supported clients on over 65,000 occasions.
Whilst the shape and size of the charity has changed over the last 18 years, the values that underpin our vital work remain the same. To recognise the growth of the charity since our very first client, we are holding an 18th Birthday party at the Royal Courts of Justice and we invite you to join us in celebrating the PSU reaching another milestone in its journey to ensure that no one has to face court alone.
Not only will we be celebrating the achievements over the last 18 years, but we will also be making a big announcement regarding the future direction of the charity and how the PSU will be changing to ensure that more people than ever before can get the vital support that they need. Make sure you don’t miss out on the big announcement and come join us.
PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES WE HAVE HAD TO CHANGE THE DATE FROM MONDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER TO THURSDAY 10TH OCTOBER.
Apologies for any confusion and we hope you are still able to join us.
