Leave a gift, change a life
A gift to Support Through Court in your will means that whatever challenges lie ahead in the justice system, people will not have to face them alone.
How your gift could help
Support Through Court has been helping people who are facing the civil and family courts alone since 2001. We’re not sure what the legal landscape will look like in the future, but with your help, we can support people in their time of need.
We have a network of 880 trained volunteers who empower people at times of extreme stress and often against professional representation, enabling them to present their case to the best of their ability. We want to give each of our clients the best possible chance in court, enabling them to feel valued and respected whilst empowering them to better access justice
A gift of just 1% of your estate can make an enormous difference to people’s lives. Any gift is greatly appreciated.
“I hope the service will not only be here for me but for other people in the future”
Different ways to leave your gift How your gift could help
There are two main ways you can remember Support Through Court in your will.
- A residuary gift: This is where you set aside a portion or all of your remaining estate, after all debts, bills and taxes have been paid, and all gifts distributed. The advantage of this type of gift is that its value is not affected by inflation.
- A pecuniary gift: This is a cash gift of a fixed amount of money. The effects on inflation may mean the true value of this gift could become less than you intended, unless you review your will on a regular basis, or you link it with inflation.
- Speak to your solicitor: If you have decided you would like to leave us a gift after you have taken care of your loved ones, we would recommend you speak to your solicitor who will be able to advise you on all key matters.
- Get in touch: We understand that leaving a will is confidential and very personal. Making changes can be an important decision and it should be made in your own time. If you decide to leave a gift in your will and would like to let us know, or if you would like any further information, please contact Katie Baxter by email at email@example.com.
