Every year, thousands of people in the UK face court alone. With no access to legal aid, it can be tough for people who are unfamiliar with the court system and trying to deal with divorce, eviction, access to their children, and many other challenges. We at Support Through Court believe that no one should face court alone.
We offer people both practical and emotional support - on the telephone, in our 20 offices in England and Wales, online and in court, so that litigants in person are comfortable with the process and can represent themselves to the best of their ability.
Our chair of trustees, Professor Peter Crisp, will complete his term of office in September of this year and we are looking for a Chair-elect to succeed Peter.
We are also looking for two other trustees to replace those whose terms of office will come to an end soon, and to help us continue to grow our service so that we can help more people.
We want our Board of Trustees to include people from all walks of life, not just because our values celebrate diversity but because it makes us stronger. We particularly encourage applications from our volunteers and from those who would increase the diversity of our trustee team.
Being a trustee of Support Through Court is hard work and needs real commitment, but it’s inspiring and fulfilling to be part of this team of volunteers, staff, trustees and supporters.
